If you just wrote down every possible name using all combinations of the letters a to z, you would find that there are 17,576 possible three-letter names, 456,976 possible four-letter names and 11,881,376 five-letter names. That's quite a lot of words to deal with.
1-letter names = 26
2-letter names = 676
3-letter names = 17,576
4-letter names = 456,976
5-letter names = 11,881,376
6-letter names = 308,915,776

So how on earth do you find the one word you want for your product name, company name, website name, crossword or puzzle from billions of possibilities some of which, such as 'dqf' or 'kkkk' are instantly forgettable?
One answer is to break the lists down into manageable chunks to look through and that is what this simple facility does. It goes further for some three- and four-letter combinations by first showing only the easy-to-say (therefore more memorable) names. It's the three- and four-letter names that are the most highly-prized for web addresses.
Of course, not every word contained in the lists makes sense in the English language and many will already have been registered as web addresses or are existing product names. Some may even have an undesirable meaning so check in a dictionary before spending money on registering a name found here!
Just select starting letters from the dropdowns to see the names. A short list of easy-to-say names (if there are any) is shown for all the three-letter names and for some of the four-letter names. For the rest, all possibilities are shown, a manageable 676 at a time.
